News accounts of the near fatal beating of a young white man in Columbia, South Carolina, by a group of black teenage thugs:

From The State (South Carolina):
Vicki Strange’s voice never quivered as she described racing to the hospital in the wee hours to get to her 18-year-old son, Carter Strange. She recalled standing in the emergency room and seeing a man on a gurney being wheeled down the hall, thinking, “That poor man.”

As nurses wheeled the man closer, Vicki Strange thought his hair looked familiar. Then she noticed the hands. “It was his hair and his hands, but the rest of him did not look like my son,” she said.
From the Daily Mail (U.K.):
The gang had allegedly been roaming around the area for most of the evening, and police said they had already tried - and failed - to rob four other people.
When they saw Carter, they allegedly ran towards him, savagely assaulted him and stole his cell phone. Police Chief Randy Scott said: 'This teenager was minding his own business, trying to make his curfew when he was brutally attacked and robbed.
From the New York Times:

The Times and the Post know this is a story you must not read. As Mark Antony says in Julius Caesar: "It will inflame you, it will make you mad."

The NYT and the WP : blank!

The same here with French TV (state or not state TV) ; Why? I suppose somebody said :"Black-on-White violence in the States (or South Africa, or Rhodesia...)? Just impossible ; Afro-Americans are so happy with Obama in the White House that they don't even bother to change the colour of the House"
Something impossible can't have happened, and so will never be mentioned...
We do have a "Ministry of Truth" in France ; do you have one too?

Zazie,

We have a Ministry of Silence. It includes the mainstream media, including so-called public broadcasting (which counters most people's views, but the public pays for it).

If you are wondering about the posting's title, it is the New York Times's slogan: "All the News That's Fit to Print."

The DM is "no longer accepting comments on this article" after only 54 comments. My guess is they didn't appreciate the frank racial commentary that only comments sections and blogs seem to provide these days.

I actually established an account at DM at one point, to post a comment about a grown man who jumped out a window during a home invasion and left his wife and daughter to be butchered. After three different "Sign the User Agreement"'s I was finally able to post a comment, where I called the man a coward. Almost immediately, I get an email from an apparatchik stating that my account had been deleted and any further attempt to post at DM would result in said apparatchik contacting my internet provider and my employer.
