The Obama machine for scalping America into high-tax European-style nanny state with government-controlled health care has stalled. Best of all, the victory is down to individuals, not a lobbyist-financed party machine.
Plenty of bloggers will analyze the Brown victory and its implications, and most of them will know more than me, so I'll limit myself to one observation.
Do not underestimate the fanaticism of the radicals, their acidic hatred of individual liberty, their worship of transnational progressivism, and their willingness to make common cause even with aggressive Islam. They will do anything to tear up the Constitution and substitute a British-style soft totalitarianism in which the State makes the rules for every department of life, from the words you are permitted to speak and write to the methodology for loading your trash in the wheelie-bin.
We got a glimpse of the Obama gang's anything-goes strategy in a desperate trick by the Coakley campaign.

… said the headline in a Coakley organization news release yesterday, January 19.
Oh, one other thing. The Coakley news release was dated January 18, the day before the election.
We've received several independent and disturbing reports of voters across the state being handed ballots that are already marked in favor of Scott Brown. This is obviously a serious violation, and our legal team is taking immediate steps to protect the integrity of this election.There are many ways to commit fraud in an election, but giving out pre-marked ballots is about as stupid and easily detected a means as possible. Ethical issues aside, why would a candidate with a lead in the polls risk everything on a clumsy scam?

The battle in America between the Old and New World traditions are seen in our two main political parties. The Republican Party is the older of the two if we take it back to Alexander Hamilton, Henry Clay, to Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Herbert Hoover, Nelson Rockefeller and John McCain. Republicans are elite meddlers believing the national government should manage the industry and affairs of the American People. They stumbled in the 1960’s with Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan. They left the party with people who do not accept original GOP policies.
The Democrat Party was the libertarian, state’s rights, individual freedom and local government party, following Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe to Jackson and Cleveland. They made the biggest swing from their policies at the turn of the century, adopting the Old World policies of Rousseau and Marx. The GOP, except for the Goldwater-Reagan moments, held fast to their better-than-thou beliefs from its origin. In the life of our Republic, the only political party that held fast to the ideals of America, which made her free and prosperous, was the 19th century Democrat Party. Absolutely terrific news. This has stopped the American version of the NHS for the time being.
Now re-call what we were discussing in the previous thread. If Obama and his gang of Leftists can let immigration go unchecked, or give amnesty to illegals, then it wont be long before the Democrats have a lockhold on all branches of government- federal, state and judiciary. They already have the MSM in their pockets. Then the NHS will be back, and there will be no stopping it bar a revolution.
What republican conservatives have to do is not merely "conserve" but roll back.
