ICE for heat

Photobucket

Phone conversation, 8:45 this morning.

[Female voice] "Good morning, xxxxxx Custom Homes."

[Me] "Good morning. May I speak to [CEO]?"

"He's out in the field now. Can I take a message?"

"Yes, please. Tell him I saw your company truck picking up a batch of illegals this morning."

Pause.

"Uh, where was this?"

"Route xx at xx. I think he knows. Maybe he was driving the truck."

"All right."

"I'm reporting it to ICE. They probably won't do anything about it, but you can worry for a day or two. Good-bye."

Good for you!

I think we could clear most every illegal out of the country in short without using violence or even looking for them. All we'd need to do is pass a $10,000 per day fine for hiring an illegal. And offer half of the fine, when collected, as a bounty to anyone - even the illegal himself! - who reports the hiring in time for the enforcement agents to get their and catch them in the act. Give the other half to the enforcing agency for its budget, with say $100 set aside as a bonus to the agents who actually catch the illegal in the act of being employed.

Suddenly you would have a huge incentive for people to report their neighbors for hiring an illegal as a maid, or as a day laborer (allow anonymous reporting). And you'd have a huge incentive for enforcement agents to immediately respond and hustle out to the work site so they could catch them in the act and earn their $100 bonus per illegal caught.

No one would dare to hire an illegal for anything. It wouldn't be worth the risk, since you would never know if the illegal themselves was just trying to bait you into hiring them so that they could turn you in themselves for the $5000.

Jobs for illegals would completely vanish overnight and there would be no way for them to make a living. They'd have no choice but to go home.
